Terms of Use
Last updated: June 4, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Cognitta mobile application. By installing or using Cognitta, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Cognitta is
Cognitta is a self-improvement and mindful-technology tool. It displays a short cognitive problem before opening apps you choose to guard, to encourage a deliberate pause and provide light mental exercise.
Not a medical device. Cognitta is intended for general wellbeing and entertainment. It is not a medical device and is not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, including cognitive decline or memory loss. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or behavioral advice. If you have concerns about your cognitive or mental health, consult a qualified professional.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cognitta. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cognitta on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app except as permitted by law; redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app; or use the app in any way that violates applicable law or the terms of your app store.
The Accessibility permission
Cognitta requests Android's Accessibility permission solely to detect when you open a guarded app so it can display a problem. You grant this permission yourself and may revoke it at any time. Without it, the app's core function cannot operate. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how this permission is used.
No warranty
Cognitta is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or every other app, or that guarding will succeed for every app on every Android version.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, Cognitta. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
